Sand Sculpting is not child’s play
Sand sculpture festivals are exhibitions of sculptures made of sand carried out in various places around the world.Traditional sand sculptures are sandcastles. However, at sand festivals one may see virtually any kinds of sculptures commonly carved in stone, bronze or wood. Many countries hold these events either annually or periodically to highlight the work of students and upcoming artists. The Sand Sculpting festival in Australia is held annually in Victoria since 2008 while Germany conducts them at different locations each time. In India, these festivals are conducted in Odisha and Goa. Sand Art festivals are also popular in Russia, Turkey and Algarve.There are several master level sand sculpting competitions in the U.S. in Texas and Florida. These events bring in sand sculptors from around the world.
